Joining the auction is easy:

First time bidders will need to register by emailing petriebooks@friendsofpetrie.org.uk with ‘SUBSCRIBE’ in the subject header. You will then receive the book list with instructions on the bidding process. Further updates on the state of the bidding are sent out inviting additional bids until the closing date. Usually a maximum of five emails are sent. If you don’t wish to bid, or to receive further emails, simply send ‘UNSUBSCRIBE’ to petriebooks@friendsofpetrie.org.uk.

If you have received auction lists in the past, you will automatically receive the complete list 3-4 weeks before the live auction. IF YOU’VE CHANGED YOUR EMAIL IN THE LAST YEAR YOU WILL NEED TO RE-SUBSCRIBE. If you no longer want to receive the list, it’s simple to unsubscribe as above but don’t unsubscribe on the Mailchimp email or you’ll cut yourself off from all PMF contact!

The live auction will be on Zoom at 6pm, 20th February 2024 and the Zoom link will be sent to you before that date. If you are unable to join us on the night you can still bid for books as each list arrives. The procedure for authorising us to bid on your behalf on the night will be detailed in the final pre-auction bidding list.

VAT AND POSTAGE. Please remember that there will be postage/shipping costs to add to the final invoice. You will also need to pay any VAT/sales tax due on books in your country of residence (0% in the UK) when the books arrive.

Email bidding will close at 5pm on the 18 February before the live online auction at 6pm on the 20 February. Instructions for final bids will be sent out closer to the time. All bids and queries should be sent to petriebooks@friendsofpetrie.org.uk

Books in this auction have either been donated or left as bequests by a number of generous donors over the years.
